Steering Commitee

A CID is always established by a group of homeowners in the area who are motivated to bring about improvements for the benefit of all.

These homeowners come together and form what is known as a Steering Committee who follow the prescribed process to establish a CID, being overseen at every step of the way by the dedicated CID department at the City of Cape Town.

Assuming the CID is successfully established, it will be incorporated as a non-profit company whose inaugural Members Meeting (or AGM) will be held towards the end of the first calendar year of its incorporation.

The Steering Committee members serve as directors of the company until that meeting at which a formal Board of Directors will be elected and the Board then go on to elect a Chair and allocate portfolios.

Generally, many of the Steering Committee members go on to become Board Directors but there can also be changes in personnel.

We’re excited to introduce the Steering Committee for our CID, focused on making our neighbourhood safer, cleaner, and better overall.

This group is made up of passionate community members who genuinely care about where we live.

They bring different experiences and ideas to the table, all aimed at improving our area.

Together, they’ll work on practical solutions to further enhance safety, boost cleanliness, and upgrade our infrastructure, making our neighbourhood a better place for everyone.
